I want to continue my Living Healthy List Freedom Series by focusing on Freedom in Forgiveness. Forgiveness is a touchy topic it hurts. Yes, I am going there.

Why?

When someone hurts you what you may not realize is that when you refuse to forgive you are actually hurting yourself, not the person you refuse to forgive.

To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.” -Louis B. Smedes

“I can’t believe she said that about me. I thought she was my friend. The nerve of her. She is going to get what she deserves.”

“My husband asked me what I do all day. He has no idea what it takes to run a house. How could he treat me that way?”

“My boss gave my coworker a promotion even though I am the one who did all the work on the project. I think it is time I quit.”

“I just lost my temper and told my daughter that I want her to move out and never come back. Now I regret it. How can I live with myself?”

You can imagine that forgiveness would be really difficult in eacho f tehse scenarios.

“Throughout life people will make you mad, disrespect you and treat you bad. Let God deal with the things they do, cause hate in your heart will consume you too.”  –Will Smith

We can experience many different emotions on a daily basis. Negative emotions can cause emotional wounds that stir up anger, frustration, guilt and regret. They  cause stress, anxiety, and depression, which can lead to physical ailments, affect your  productivity, focus, and self-esteem.

“Without forgiveness life is governed by an endless cycle of resentment and retaliation.” Roberto Assagioli

Every time you think about the incident or talk about it to someone  you  are reliving the moment over and over again and bringing up all the emotions associated with it.

“Anger makes you smaller, while forgiveness forces you to grow beyond what you were.”
Cherie Carter-Scott

“Forgiveness isn’t approving what happened. It’s choosing to rise above it.” – Robin Sharma

I am honored to support a local PTSD Veteran group with essential oil therapy and are working together through the act of forgiveness. It is a process, but it is amazing to watch freedom and joy unleash using a combination of evidence-based techniques and essential oils to release toxic emotions, overcome emotional barriers, and experience JOY.

I enjoy helping my clients improve productivity, focus, and physical wellness by breaking through the emotions that hold them back from being the best person they can be.

“The practice of forgiveness is our most important contribution to the healing of the world.” – Marianne Williamson

My belief in the emotional benefits of Young Living essential oils happened when my family experienced a traumatic incident that required me to forgive or the incident would have left me stagnant, afraid, and emotionally toxic.

I was truly amazed that the same day the incident happened, I slept like a baby. Over time the thought came to mind and I started to feel the crippling sensation move through my body, I had my essential oil regimen and prayer to help me work through my anxiety and fear.

“Forgiveness is like faith. You have to keep reviving it.”Mason Cooley

So what is my essential oil spotlight for the theme of forgiveness this month? My choice is the Young Living Forgiveness blend. Forgiveness is a blend of therapeutic essential oils including Melissa officinalis  (Melissa), Pelargonium graveolens (Geranium), Boswellia carterii (Frankincense), Santalum paniculatum (Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood), and other essential oils to help create a calming and uplifting experience when forgiving others and yourself.

How to Use

Place one drop in the palm of your hands, cup hands over your nose and mouth, and inhale deeply and exhale. Repeat. You can also apply a drop to the wrists, back of ears, and/or the base of the neck.

I like to use forgiveness during my prayer time ( ist also great during meditation and journaling) and I keep it handy to help me overcome those daily “mom forgive moments”.

“Be the one who nurtures and builds. Be the one who has an understanding and a forgiving heart one who looks for the best in people. Leave people better than you found them.” Marvin J. Ashton

The “forgive and forget” mentality tends to encourage suppressed emotions that end up surfacing through mental, emotional, and physical manifestations. Do we ever really “forget”?

I will always remember the first time I witnessed a client experience the benefits of Forgiveness essential oil.   We were up until 5 a.m. talking about a person she thought she had forgiven, but the emotional wounds were still present.   With the use of Forgiveness Blend, prayer in just a few sessions she worked through toxic emotions and on to freedom.

“Forgiveness isn’t approving what happened. It’s choosing to rise above it.”
Robin Sharma

What are you holding on to? Is there someone in your life that you need to forgive? Are you holding on to grudges, bitterness, and regret? Do you seeking revenge or suppressing feelings by trying to “forget” it ever happened? Embrace FREEDOM in FORGIVENESS.
